One of the two space fortresses that guard the PLANT homeland. Like its companion Boaz, Jachin Due is a former resource asteroid, which was converted into a defensive base after ZAFT forces repulsed an Earth Alliance fleet in its vicinity on April 17, C.E. 70. The asteroid's thick rock walls make it an ideal military facility, capable of surviving anything short of an all-out nuclear attack. The name Jachin is borrowed from one of the two pillars of Solomon's temple, while Due is the Italian word for the number two.
