No New Posts PLANT

A new type of space settlement, created chiefly by Coordinators. Roughly 120 of these constructs are gathered at Lagrange point 5, a gravitationally stable area in Earth orbit, and these settlements have become a new homeland for Coordinators fleeing the persecution they experienced on Earth. As their name suggests, the PLANTs were created to serve as research and manufacturing sites, but their unique design also enables them to recreate a lush natural environment, with abundant vegetation and open water.

These hourglass-style structures consist of two disc-shaped living areas, each ten kilometers in diameter, which rotate around a central hub to produce artificial gravity. Each living area is anchored to the hub by a 30-kilometer central shaft and a network of high-tension strings, and a high-speed elevator runs up the central shaft to provide access to the hub. A set of external mirrors, attached to the central hub, are used to reflect sunlight into the inner surfaces of the living areas.

The PLANTs are grouped into twelve sectors, or "cities," each with its own scientific or industrial specialty. These cities are named after the months of the Roman calendar, and each is made up of roughly ten individual PLANT settlements, which are referred to as Januarius One, Januarius Two, and so forth.

No New Posts ZAFT Military Station

A large cylindrical space station in the PLANT homeland which serves as the headquarters and command center of the ZAFT forces. This military station is surrounded by dozens of floating docks for use by ZAFT warships.

No New Posts Boaz

One of the two space fortresses that guard the PLANT homeland. Originally controlled by the Republic of East Asia, who gave it the name Nova, this asteroid was placed in Earth orbit at Lagrange point 4 so that it could be used as a resource mine. After Nova was captured by ZAFT on July 12, C.E. 70, it was transferred to the PLANT homeland at Lagrange point 5 and converted into the military base known as Boaz.
The name Boaz is borrowed from one of the two pillars of Solomon's temple.

No New Posts Jachin Due

One of the two space fortresses that guard the PLANT homeland. Like its companion Boaz, Jachin Due is a former resource asteroid, which was converted into a defensive base after ZAFT forces repulsed an Earth Alliance fleet in its vicinity on April 17, C.E. 70. The asteroid's thick rock walls make it an ideal military facility, capable of surviving anything short of an all-out nuclear attack.
The name Jachin is borrowed from one of the two pillars of Solomon's temple, while Due is the Italian word for the number two.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
L5
An area of gravitational stability created by the interactions of a planet and its satellite. You’ll find a small place made to look like earth within these places, colonies are also some times built within the areas.

The largest clusters of space colonies are located at L4 and L5, which lie along the moon's orbital path, 60 degrees to either side of the moon itself. These regions are more stable than L1, L2, and L3, which respectively lie in front of, behind, and 180 degrees opposite the moon.
