The isthmus which connects Central and South America. This is the location of the Panama Canal that connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as one of the Earth Alliance's major spaceports. The Panama spaceport is the site of the Porta Panama mass driver, jointly developed by the Atlantic Federation and the United States of South America, which was seized by the former at the beginning of the war. As one of the Alliance's last remaining spaceports, Panama is now an important strategic target for the ZAFT forces.
